Britney Spears plays a "super sexy" 50s housewife in her new music video.

The 'Circus' singer dons a short blonde wig, a fitted pink top and a white skirt for the promo for her upcoming single 'If You Seek Amy'.

The pop star - who will kick off her 'Circus' tour in New Orleans next month - has spoken about the promo, which was shot earlier this week.

She wrote on her Twitter account: "The 'If You Seek Amy' shoot was super sexy and really fun! I can't wait for you all to see it. Love Britney."

It has also been revealed Britney has several costume changes and is surrounded by dancers "dressed in skimpy outfits" in the video.

A source said: "The video begins with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie that she baked. She acts like she wants to hook up. The

video is very provocative."

Britney's body is back to its former glory and insiders say she was "very professional" and "upbeat" on the set.

Another source said: "She was like the old Britney at the shoot. She was engaged and excited the whole day and seemed like her old self."'If You Seek Amy' is the

Adnan Ghalib insists he is still dating Britney Spears.

British paparazzo Adnan reportedly told friends last month he is Britney's boyfriend, despite her obtaining a restraining order against him last week.

According to Heat magazine, a source claims Adnan - who has not been seen with the 'Womanizer' singer in over a year - said: "I still love Britney. I'm her boyfriend.

"Britney has a beautiful soul. We share something really special. The truth about us will come out eventually, but it's not for me to talk about. I love her."

Adnan's relationship with Britney, 27, was quickly curtailed when Britney's father Jamie became her co-conservator - and was placed in control of her money and affairs - in February last year.

In the same month, Adnan was given his first temporary order requiring him to stay at least 250 yards away from Britney - who was hospitalised at the time at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for observation.

Adnan abided by its terms until July when the order expired and wasn't renewed.

However, Britney gained another temporary order against Adnan and her former manager Sam Lutfi which accused them both of trying to "disrupt" the conservatorship order earlier this month.A hearing has been scheduled for February 23 which will review the restraining order.

Britney Spears' VMA triumph

A year after her disastrous comeback attempt at the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears swept the event on Sunday, winning the first three "Moonman" statuettes of her career.

The pop singer, whose career has been overshadowed in recent years by a litany of personal woes, took home the awards for video of the year, best pop video and best female video, all for the tune "Piece of Me."

"I'm in shock right now," the 26-year-old starlet said, after taking the stage for the third time to receive the coveted award for video of the year.

In her brief acceptance speeches, she doled out multiple thanks to God, her family and her fans.

But the 25th annual broadcast of the lifestyle cable channel's flagship bash did not begin promisingly for Spears. After weeks of speculation, the channel announced last week that Spears would open the ceremony and promised some surprises.

All she did, however, was deliver four sentences, shielding her lower face with her microphone.

"Thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I'm here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday, the 25th anniversary of the VMAs. This is the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and it starts right now."

The audience, primed for fireworks, barely had time to digest her perfunctory delivery before R&B singer Rihanna belted out the the first of many musical performances.

Spears inadvertently stole the show last year. Clearly unsteady and out-of-shape, she badly lip-synched a song, drawing bewildered stares from the high-wattage audience and universal derision in the messy aftermath.

But the tabloid target seems to have avoided any calamities in recent months. While she puts her life back together, her ex-husband has full custody of their two sons, and her father and a lawyer have taken control of her business affairs.

Other winners included R&B singer Chris Brown's "With You" for best male video, Linkin Park's "Shadow of the Day" for best rock video, and rapper Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" for best hip-hop video.

The show was hosted by British comedian Russell Brand, who is known for his scene-stealing turn as a lovably sleazy rock star in the romantic comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

Brand implored Americans to elect Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, and described U.S. President George W. Bush as a "retarded country fella."

He also ridiculed the oaths of virginity undertaken by fresh-faced teen idols the Jonas Brothers, declaring that "Eight years of Bush is what the Jonas Brothers are going to have to cram into their bachelor parties."

But "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks came to the brothers' defence, saying, "It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not every guy or girl wants to be a slut."

"High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale also entered the fray on the brothers' behalf, telling reporters backstage that Brand's jokes were "not really nice."

Even Paris Hilton took pity on the threesome. "Don't pick on them. That's something cool for a kid to keep."

The awards were held in Los Angeles for the first time in a decade, on the historic studio lot of MTV's corporate sibling, Paramount Pictures. The lifestyle cable network used the faux city streets, rooftops, and sound stages all over the Paramount lot to show various performances.

Last year, 7.1 million MTV viewers watched the festivities, according to Nielsen Media Research. While viewership was up from 5.8 million the year before, the numbers were a far cry from the record 12 million viewers for the 1999 version.

Reg Jones, now 30, has been revealed as the man who the 'Gimme More' singer lost her virginity to at the age of 14.

The troubled star's mother Lynne outed him in her tell-all book 'Through The Storm' which claims the former high school American football star had sex with the singer when he was 17.

The jilted lover - who Britney dumped for 'SexyBack' singer Justin Timberlake - admits he still thinks of the pop star and keeps a picture of his ex wearing a black bra.

He is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "We were madly in love and Britney was very passionate. I'd often stay over at her house and we'd fool around like any young couple.

"Although there was a couple of years difference in our age, it didn't seem to matter.

"She was everything a boy could have wanted - great-looking, always laughing and liked by everyone.

"One time she called me from Los Angeles, saying, 'Guess who I've just beaten at ping-pong? Leo DiCaprio.' How do you compete with that?"

Lynne's book also reveals how Britney - who broke down in tears when she found out her most intimate secrets were to be published - took drugs at 15 and started drinking aged 13.

Lynne Spears' shocking revelations also include claims Britney began drinking at 13 and was introduced to drugs when she went to Los Angeles to record her first hit.

The 'Toxic' singer was even allegedly caught with cocaine and cannabis on a private jet when she was just 16.

Dispelling claims Britney lost her virginity to her former pop star boyfriend Justin Timberlake, Lynne says in her book 'Through the Storm' her daughter first had sex with an 18-year-old American football player while she attended her local high school in Kentwood, Louisiana, for a year before becoming a teen pop star.

Lynne admits she allowed Britney, aged 16, to sleep with Justin.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Lynne thought Britney was in love and Justin was good for her."

Lynne claims her daughter experimented with alcohol after joining Disney TV show 'The Mickey Mouse Club'.

Lynne - who has had a turbulent relationship with Britney since she split from ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2006 - admits in the memoir she regrets handing control of Britney's career over to her managers and allowing her to be promoted as a sex object at the age of 17 in the music promo for 'Baby One More Time'.

Lynne, 53, believes Britney's behaviour as a teenage star led to her public breakdown earlier this year, which involved her being put in a psychiatric hospital twice and losing custody of her two children, Sean Preston, almost three, and Jayden James, 23 months.

Britney Spears looks "hot and blonde" in her cameo appearance in the Pussycat Dolls' new video.

The troubled singer - who has been working hard to get back on track following her alleged breakdown earlier this year - shot her scenes for the girl group's latest track 'When I Grow Up' in California on Wednesday (04.06.08).

A set source said: "It was carefully planned out.

"In the scene shot, Britney is driving in a car. They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic - that is it. It is genius and you will love it! Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde."

The Pussycat Dolls filmed the part of the scene in a blue convertible Chevy Imapla.

The insider added: "They are singing and in traffic - looking hot.

"It is a very short sequence, but Britney had a lot of fun with it. Britney really likes the Dolls' music and when she saw them on the MTV Movie Awards at the weekend, she was totally down to do the video."

This is not the first time mother-of-two Britney has teamed up with the group.

She once appeared with the Pussycat Dolls as part of a special performance for her older brother Bryan's birthday.

Britney Spears' dad compensation

Britney Spears' father has demanded compensation from his daughter.

The 'Gimme More' singer has been ordered to pay her father Jamie £5,000 to compensate him for the loss of earnings he suffered when he gave up his job to care for her earlier this year.

Jamie was made conservator of Britney's estate in January after she suffered a public meltdown and lost custody of her children, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.

Court papers state: "As a result of the responsibilities Mr. Spears has assumed as Temporary Conservator of the Person and Temporary Co-Conservator of the Estate, he has been able to continue his prior employment."

With Jamie's help, Britney has managed to turn her life around.

As well as two successful appearances on hit US TV show 'How I Met Your Mother', the singer has also returned to the recording studio.

The judge in her child custody battle is so impressed by her progress he has recently granted her extra visitation rights to her sons, who live with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A spokesman for Kevin said: "This wouldn't have happened if Jamie Spears wasn't involved."

Britney Spears' $61m mistake

Britney Spears' recent troubles have reportedly cost her nearly $61 million.

The 'Toxic' singer's father Jamie, who is also co-conservator of her estate, made the shocking discovery after examining Britney's accounts.

A source close to the Spears family said: "It's staggering how much money has been used up since February 2007."

Britney - who lost custody of her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline before being admitted to a psychiatric ward earlier this year - has been forced to spend huge amounts on legal bills and psychiatric care.

Independent accountant Robert Bianchi - who is not involved in the Spears care - also estimates the 26-year-old singer lost out

on a staggering $50 million by not touring to promote her most recent record 'Blackout', according to In Touch Weekly magazine.

However, thanks to her father's stringent controls of her purse strings, Britney is said to now be back on track.

The source added: "It's been quite a challenge getting things under control. But now she's spending about a fifth of what she used to."

Meanwhile, Britney is reportedly planning to spend Mother's Day with her two sons Sean Preston, two, and 20-month-old Jayden James.

Kevin is said to be considering putting their custody battle aside so she can spend the special day (11.05.08) with the boys.

A source close to Kevin said: "He hasn't said yes yet, but he is considering it."

At the tender age of eight Britney was already an accomplished young gymnast and regularly competed in national competitions as well as performing in local musicals and revues. This was also when she first auditioned to be in the world famous Disney Mickey Mouse Club and headed on the road to international stardom.

However the seed for the problems she is now facing could have already been planted before the fame even began. There have been numerous rumours about Britney's unstable upbringing with reports of an alcoholic drug addict father and a Grandma who committed suicide.

TV presenter and mental health worker Trisha Goddard went through a nervous breakdown herself and she believes upbringing has a lot to do with Britney's problems: “Bad stuff happens to a lot of people but it depends on your background and how you're brought as to how you deal with it,” she says.

In fact Trisha thinks Brit's problems may have been predictable before she was even born: “We've heard her father had a drug addiction – so there may well be a mental health weakness in the family- it often runs in families the way breast cancer runs in families and heart disease runs in families.”

“Also you don't know what she heard as a kid. You don't know what messages she picked up. Were there rows between her parents going on around her? We don't know what she learnt about what being a good woman is and all of that,” adds Trisha. “You can put two people in exactly the same situation- one person could have a real solid background and see the common sense and get through- look at someone like Joss Stone- and the other reacts differently.”

By age 16 Britney was familiar with the showbiz world and was no stranger to US TV screens so when she was signed by Jive Records the young starlet was already used to be surrounded by the rich and famous. Her debut single 'Hit Me (Baby) One More Time' became a huge international hit and soon Britney's Disney cuteness was replaced with sexed up school girl naughtiness.

“Britney was so novel, and it was such a huge time for teen pop that I think we overlooked a lot of signals that something eventually was going to go wrong,” said Shirley Halperin, music journalist, Entertainment Weekly in the True Hollywood Story: Britney Spears- Fall From Grace documentary on E! Entertainment next month.

And the experts agree the trouble started early on: “It's hard to imagine what it's like to constantly have to monitor what you say, how you behave, what you wear. It forces you to think about creating a false image of who you are,” says Dr David Levy, Psychologist at Pepperdine University.

Like any teenage girl Britney wanted to rebel against everything but for someone with so much money and power this meant more than just staying out all night or dating a boy her dad didn't approve of. Teenage rebellion superstar style is a lot more destructive.

“As she grew older, I think she began to rebel from wanting to be the nice girl,” says psychotherapist Stacey Kaiser , “She wanted to be who she really was, and since she didn't know who she really was because she was so young and so in the limelight, everything sort of got distorted for her.”

“Britney spent a lot of her life trying to conform to what she thought she should be. And what often happens when people try to conform is, they go the whole other way. 'I'm going to surprise everybody. I don't care what you think. This is my man. And not only am I going to be with him, but I'm going to make you take him if I have to force feed him on you.”

Being so young and having access to so much fame and money may seem like a teenage girl's dream but in reality it makes growing up a lot harder and trusting people can be even more difficult.

“Like Britney I had those skewed views of what success was and what being a women was and all of those things.” says Trisha Goddard. “Now the total difference between myself and Britney is that I only came into the public eye at 28 so I still had a good idea of how to make friends, who to trust and all that.”

“I already had firm friends in place who absolutely weren't with me for the money because they knew me when I didn't have any. They could say 'don't do that' or 'do that'. Britney hasn't got that safety net.”

Another big issue for teenage girls is body image and this becomes and even bigger issue when your body is splashed on posters and in magazines all over the world. Britney's yo-yo dieting a varying weight shows the problems with image she has. Trisha thinks airbrushing has a lot top answer for.

“When you live in an unreal world you start to question whether you are real too because you sense of reality is taken away. You also get used to being airbrushed to hell,” she says

“When your used to being airbrushed you think that's what you really look like. Now Britney is seeing pictures of herself looking rough because the whole 'Britney Descends into Hell' story would not work if they airbrushed all her spots out and her hair extension joins. If they took all that out and slimmed her down as they have in the past then those headlines wouldn't work. Now she's seeing very real, very unflattering pictures of herself and that's not going to be nice.”

During the height of her career Britney launched album after album, generating record-breaking sales with each release. But soon the cracks started to show: a much-publicized break-up with long-time boyfriend Justin Timberlake, a quickie Las Vegas marriage to (and annulment from) childhood pal Jason Alexander, and finally a whirlwind romance with backup dancer Kevin Federline which produced two sons, a divorce and one of the ugliest custody battles in years Britney's way of coping was to escape into a world of non-stop partying. And 2007 became a year of infamy. First, she spent just 24 hours in rehab then, in a move that shocked the world, she shaved off her trademark golden locks. Insiders feared the one-time teen idol was spinning out of control while the paparazzi loved it! “Britney had all the power and the minute she showed that crack in her image it was almost like people were just like yeah, let's take her down,” says Tamara Conniff, Editor in Chief of Billboard.

With so many people out to catch Britney up to the next crazy stunt her life became a media circus and certain people would do anything to get close to her and stab her in the back just to make a quick buck. The biggest example of this is her latest love interest brummie photographer Adnan Ghalib.

“He needs shooting,” says Trisha, “I don't advocate violence but he deserves it. When you fall down in the desert the first thing to come are the vultures circling around you. The paparazzi that are befriending Britney are vultures.”

While the world can see that our favourite teeny bopper has grown into a desperate young woman heading for a breakdown Britney seems to be living in denial and still refuses to accept any help.

“You may know your unhappy and feeling in pain but when everyone around is telling you it's OK and your single is going up and up the charts then why would you think anything was wrong,”says Trisha.

Britney so obviously needs someone to rescue her from the drama that has become her life but pointing the finger of responsibility isn't easy. So many people in Britney's life have let her down it's easy to see why she find it hard to trust someone enough to let them help her. “Maybe some people in her management are telling her she needs help but these are probably the same people who pushed her to work hard when she wanted to stay at home or the people who made her lose weight when she didn't want to so why would she trust these people, “ thinks Trisha.

Britney's mother is also a doubtful option when it comes to helping out her daughter. With news that the younger Spears, Jamie Lynn, is to become a teenage mum Trisha thinks we would be naive to believe that mum always knows best:

“Where has her mother been before now? And we've seen Jamie get pregnant now...so Hello...maybe mum isn't the best person to help,” she says.

Well who does that leave? Surprisingly a rank outsider seems to be Brit's best hope for a shoulder to cry on. Kevin Federline was public enemy number 1 when he first started dating her but this week he's been voted top Dad by a US magazine.

“I don't know what sort of guy he is but I think he might be able to get through to her,” says Trisha. “Taking someone's children away and never letting them see them again is a wonderful way to push someone's self destruct button. So maybe if they can agree to some conditions by which she can see them he might be able to calm things down.”

We could debate for hours about what made Britney go flying off the rails and who's responsibility it is to bring her back on track but there's one important group of people everyone seems to be neglecting....and that's each and every one of us! When she was at the top of her game, entertaining us with her unique brand of cheesy pop and enviable dance moves she was public property and everyone loved their pop princess. Now when she needs support more than ever some people are far too keen to turn their back on her and watch her fall.

Reading the tabloid stories of Britney's bizarre antics may be entertaining and watching her flashing her bits and shaving her head might make you giggle but in reality we are witnessing the very sad and distressing breakdown of a young woman. We have to wonder would we all find it so funny if this was our little sister, cousin or best friend who's life was falling about around them?

She may be a celebrity, musician, icon, pin up, whatever you want to call her but when it comes down to it she's a 27 year old young woman, losing her children and her career, going through a very scary mental illness and just crying out for help- is that really entertainment?

Britney Spears loses child visits

Britney Spears has had her visitation rights with her children suspended.

The troubled 25-year-old singer had been granted overnight visits with her two children - two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James - but all her visitation rights have now been removed after she couldn't be contacted by court officials who needed to arrange her next court-ordered drugs test.

The order came from Los Angeles County Commissioner Judge Scott M. Gordon after Kevin's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan called an emergency court hearing on Thursday (17.10.07).

A friend of Kevin's said he was prompted to call the hearing after Sean and Jayden returned to his house "crying and surly" after spending time with their mother.

The friend told E!: "They came back to his house, and their eating schedule was off, their sleeping schedule was off, and they won't listen to him, because he knows they haven't been getting any discipline at her house.

"He has to start all over, getting them settled again, calm them down and reintroduce them to their normal schedules. And it's frustrating for him. He's been tolerating this for a long time, but he thought maybe it would get better with a monitor involved. It hasn't.

"He believes the only way she'll start paying attention to her responsibilities is by making her feel the consequences of shirking them. Kevin keeps saying he's genuinely scared for the children's safety."

According to a friend of the singer, Britney had given the court her correct number, but because of a lack of reception in her house, the phone call couldn't be connected.

After temporarily losing full custody of the children to Kevin on October 1, she was granted one overnight visit with the pair per week as long as she complied with a long list of court requirements including random drug tests, working with a parenting coach and counselling.

Both Kevin and Britney will have to go to court on October 26, when the singer's parenting coach will submit a report to the judge.

Britney Spears to see healer

Britney Spears is reportedly set to meet a Native American healer to help cleanse her soul.

The troubled singer - who recently lost custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to ex-husband Kevin Federline - is said to have organised the meeting with a head shaman near a reservation at the base of America's Grand Canyon.

A source said: "The head shaman has agreed to perform the ritual on Britney, which is a great honour.

"The shaman will wave sage over her head and daub her temples with a magical potion. And the learned Indians will chant mantra and perform a special dance around her."

Britney was inspired to arrange the visit by Owen Wilson, who met the healers following his suicide bid in August.

The 'Toxic' singer has seen her life spiral out of control since splitting from Kevin in November 2006.

She has been seen wildly partying, drinking heavily, flashing her genitals and allegedly taking drugs.

In February, she publicly shaved her head off and swiftly entered rehab.

However, after leaving Malibu's Promises centre, she continued to behave erratically.

In July, her divorce from Kevin was finalised, with the couple sharing joint custody of Sean and Jayden.

But Kevin was granted sole custody earlier this month after a judge ruled Britney was not behaving in a suitable manner.

Lawyer: Spears files visitation motion

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears filed an emergency court motion seeking to expand visitation rights with her children, the lawyer for ex-husband Kevin Federline said Wednesday.

Federline lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told The Associated Press that he received the motion Wednesday and will be in court Thursday.

Kaplan did not elaborate on what Spears was seeking, but criticized the motion, pointing out that the judge's decision was barely a week old.

"I don't see any emergency or any new facts" in the case, Kaplan said in a telephone interview. "We are going to oppose this."

Kaplan said Federline would not be in court.

"When there is something of substance being addressed, he'll be there," Kaplan said.

An after-hours call to Spears' attorney was not immediately returned.

Spears was ordered Oct. 1 to relinquish custody of her children by a court commissioner who had raised concerns about drug and alcohol use.

Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon later granted some visitation rights to Spears, but required that a monitor must watch her while she's with her sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James.

The visits could be cut short if the monitor decides any behavior or action by Spears endangers the children.

Gordon had previously said Spears engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol" and ordered her to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody dispute with Federline.

Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, were married in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November and it became official in July.

Britney Spears passes drug test

Britney Spears has been passing her court-ordered random drug tests.

The 'Toxic' singer - who was ordered by a judge to complete drug and alcohol testing to keep supervised visitation rights to her sons - has tested negative so far, according to her lawyer.

Britney's attorney Sorrell Trope said: "She's passed her random drug tests. There's been more than one. They came up negative."

The 25-year-old star lost custody of son Sean Preston, two, and 13-month-old Jayden James last week after failing to take one of the court-ordered tests.

Britney was in tears yesterday (09.10.07) as she handed her sons back into the custody of their father Kevin Federline after her first supervised visit.

A source said: "Brit was upset. It was really sad to see."

She spent a few hours with the boys at her Malibu mansion under the watchful eye of a court supervisor.

Meanwhile, the 'Gimme More' singer has been ordered by a judge to be formerly arrested in her hit-and-run case.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Rebecca Omens said Britney must hand herself in to a police station and be fingerprinted and photographed before October 25, when she is required to appear in court.

The troubled singer was charged last month with hit-and-run and driving without a valid licence after she allegedly hit another car in a parking lot.

Britney Spears' comeback single 'Gimme More' debuted on a New York radio station's website last night (30.08.07).

Just minutes after the track was leaked on several US gossip sites, the racy dance track was given its official unveiling on Z-100's website.

Britney opens the track declaring "It's Britney, b***h" before launching into her trademark breathy vocals over a catchy beat.

The song is extremely sexual with very feisty lyrics and ends with producer Nate 'Danjahandz' Hills saying, "Bet you didn't see this coming."

Britney - due to make an attention-grabbing comeback performance when she opens the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9 - is expected to release her fifth studio album next month.

Singer-songwriter Ne-Yo - who worked with Britney on several tracks for her comeback album - said: "She's got to remind people why they love her in the first place. She's got to get their minds off her personal life and back on the music.

"I think it's possible she can make a comeback. I heard a lot of the music. I definitely think she can do it."

Britney Spears has hit back at actress Keira Knightley for slamming her infamous flashing underwear incident.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star branded Spears a "slut" after she was photographed flashing her underwear earlier this year (07).

But the singer laughed off the comments, adding, "Who's Keira Knightley? I guess she must need the publicity".

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline Accused of Child Abuse

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's custody battle is heating up - an allegation of child abuse is to be investigated.

Legal sources tell website tmz Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan filed legal papers on Monday (27Aug07), which mentions a investigation by the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) concerning the parenting to Sean Preston, 23 months; and Jayden James, 11 months.

It is reported that the court files allege the children have poor dental hygiene and bad eating and sleeping habits.

An anonymous complaint about either Federline or Spears was reportedly filed with the DCFS in 2 July (07), but was not followed up with an investigation.

Last year (06) the couple were investigated twice by the DCFS after Spears was photographed driving with Sean Preston on her lap and then two months later when the tot fell out of his high chair at their Malibu, California home.

U.S. TV show Access Hollywood said the child abuse allegations have become the primary matter in the couple's custody battle.

The couple's divorce was finalised last month (Jul07) with both parties agreeing to joint custody of the boys. However, Federline is now seeking full custody following Spears' recent erratic behaviour.

Britney Spears' Gimme More

Britney Spears' new single could debut next week.

The new track is not the recently leaked ballad, 'Baby Boy', but an up-tempo dance track called 'Gimme More' produced by Timbaland protégé Nate 'Danjahandz' Hills.

A source, who claims the song will be released in September, said: "People are going to love this new track. It is a whole new funky dance sound."

'Gimme More' was the reported working title of the music video Britney filmed in July.

Another source who has heard the track said: "This is going to be a huge hit. Britney will come back with a bang."

Insiders say Britney already has "more than enough material" for her fifth studio album, and is planning to surprise fans with a comeback by releasing it this autumn with no promotional build-up.

Britney - who is currently facing a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline for sons Sean Preston, 23-months, and Jayden James, 11-months - also worked with other producers, including J.R. Rotem, on her new material.

A third source revealed: "The album still has no official title or release date and is being kept top-secret. But Britney is planning to shock everyone by letting it hit the shelves this autumn."

Britney Spears' desertion song

Britney Spears has bared her soul in a new song in which she sings about her "baby boy" deserting her.

The track - which has been leaked on the internet - features the 25-year-old divorced mother-of-two singing a ballad over a slow beat to the sound of toy chimes.

In what appears to be a plea to ex-husband Kevin Federline, Britney sings: "Everyday, I'm in a daze/Looking for that someone

"And everyday, I sit and kneel and pray/Oh, sweet love, can I get some?

"So why do you desert me, baby boy? I need your love right now!"

The song then breaks and Britney is heard on the phone saying: "Hey baby, what time you gonna get home?"

The song ends with Britney singing: "So why did you desert me, baby boy?/I thought that you, you were the one.

"So if you preferred the other one/She won't bring you the sun."

A source said: "This is obviously just a demo and not a finished or official release in any way. It is a shame someone would leak unfinished, unmastered and incomplete work."

Britney is currently facing a custody battle with Kevin for 23-month-old Sean Preston and 11-month-old Jayden James.

The singer is rumoured to be planning to flee to London with her sons.

Britney Spears' Justin snub

Britney Spears "refused" to duet with ex-lover Justin Timberlake.

The troubled 'Toxic' singer mysteriously pulled out of recording the track, which was due to be produced by Timbaland, with her former boyfriend last month.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Timbaland set aside a week out of his crazy schedule to do this - and then, just before she was supposed to fly out, Britney abruptly cancelled the session and refused to do the song.

"It's crazy. She's looking for a comeback, and this would have not only been a huge hit, but something she could have opened the MTV Video Awards with it and really blown everyone away."

The duet was set to be recorded at Timbaland's Virginia Beach studio and Justin reportedly wrote the track especially for Britney.

Britney's record label Jive is said to be worried about the star's erratic behaviour and had hoped the duet would resurrect her faltering pop career.

Another sourced added: "Everyone is worried. In her mind, her album is done and she's done enough work. She's an easy target right now, because she's sick. She needs help. It's sad because what she's got - and we've heard it's like bipolar disorder - can easily be treated with medication, but she won't do it.

"People at Jive have been with Britney since album one, and have an investment in her. They have faith that once the material is there, she will become focused and step it up. But at the end of the day no-one can do it for her."

Representatives for Jive and Justin declined to comment.

Earlier this year, Timbaland approached Justin to help propel Britney back to the top of the charts.

He said: "I feel her pain, it really bothers me. I asked Justin, 'How would you feel about me working with Britney? Would you do it with me?' He said he would."

Britney and Justin dated for four years until 2002.

Kevin Federline's Vegas grind

Kevin Federline has been drinking and "grinding" in Las Vegas.

The ex-husband of Britney Spears, who recently filed for primary custody of the couple's two sons, arrived at the Venetian's Tao nightclub with 25 friends on Friday night (17.08.07) and proceeded to down strong shots.

A source told People magazine: "He was drinking straight from the vodka and Jagermeister bottles. I didn't see him with a drink in his hand that much, but he drank out of the bottles a few times."

Kevin and his friends dined at Tao's Loft restaurant at around 11.30pm, before moving on to the club at 1am.

K-Fed, who was wearing baggy jeans and a yellow polo shirt, ordered bottles of Jack Daniels, Grey Goose and Jagermeister for his friends at his VIP table.

He was seen flirting with several girls and later left his own private area to "grind" with a table full of girls nearby.

The source added: "He was grinding up on a few of the girls. He had a flashlight and was shining it on some of the girls around him. He chain smoking and flashing his gold necklace to DJ Reach. Kevin held up a cigarette lighter when Reach played Jay-Z's 'Big Pimpin'."

Kevin, who finally left the nightspot at around 4am, wants to care for his sons, 23-month-old Sean Preston and 11-month-old Jayden James for 70 per cent of the time.

Custody is currently shared equally between Kevin and Britney.
