Scarlett Johansson is a romantic.
The 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' - who recently announced her engagement to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds - thinks she "inherited" her romanticism from her mother.
She said: "My mom is a romantic person and I think I inherited that from her. There are all different types of romance, the romance you share with a partner, but there's also the thoughtfulness you have with your children, that can be romantic.
"Then there is remembering what people like and what they appreciate and wanting them to experience it - that's romantic to me."
Scarlett also said despite being considered a sex symbol worldwide, she rarely feels beautiful.
She added: "Beauty is something you recognise in someone. I mean, you put on an outfit or whatever and think, 'Hey, I feel sexy.' But I think it's rare that you feel beautiful. I never look at myself in the mirror and say, 'I look really beautiful.' "

Scarlett Johansson's owl quest
Scarlett Johansson spent days trying to record owl noises while recording her new album.
The 'Lost in Translation' actress was so determined to incorporate unique sounds on her debut LP 'Anywhere I Lay My Head' she even taped the call of the nocturnal birds.
She said: "I spent days trying to record owls. I would hear them and then run outside to find them. My producer David Sitek told me to keep a mini-recorder with me all the time and record sounds I liked. That was the most elusive thing we recorded - the owls. We recorded all kinds of stuff - even rainstorms."
Scarlett couldn't care less about the criticism her album has received, because she is confident she has a good voice.
She added to NME magazine: "I think a lot of actors have good voices. We are mimics. If you were to hum something now, I'd probably be able to sing it right back to you. I'm a pretty decent singer."

Scarlett Johansson confirms engagement
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are engaged.
The 'Definitely, Maybe' actor - who has been dating Scarlett for more than a year - popped the question to the actress who excitedly said "yes".
Scarlett's representative Marcel Pariseau confirmed: "They are both thrilled."
The couple are yet to set a wedding date.
The 23-year-old star proudly showed off her diamond ring at New York's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala last night (05.05.08), accessorising it with a tight Dolce and Gabbana dress.
Hugh Jackman - who became close friends with Scarlett, after starring with her in 'Scoop' and 'The Prestige' - recently gave the couple his blessing.
He said: "Ryan Reynolds is one of the funniest guys I've ever met. And we had a really good chat about his girlfriend, because I'm very fond of Scarlett.
"Both my wife Deborra-Lee Furness and I are very proprietary about Scarlett, but Ryan gets a big thumbs up from me! I'm giving my blessing - Ryan is phenomenal."
Ryan was previously engaged to 'Ironic' singer Alanis Morissette, but they split in February 2007 after four years together.
Scarlett has previously been romantically linked to Josh Hartnett and Benicio Del Toro.

Scarlett Johansson's $7m home
Scarlett Johansson has bought a $7 million Hollywood house.
The native New Yorker has bought the property which is situated on an acre of land in the Outpost Estates area of Los Angeles from her director-producer friend Harold Becker.
The seven-bedroom Spanish-style home is 4,300 sq ft and Scarlett's new neighbours include Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie, Sharon Stone, Meg Ryan and Denzel Washington.
Meanwhile, Scarlett, who is an Oxfam ambassador, has spent two weeks in India and Sri Lanka working with the relief charity to increase awareness about global poverty and suffering.
Speaking about leaving her glitzy lifestyle behind, Scarlett, 22, said: "It was nice to feel part of the community.
Certainly your own vanity is the last thing on your mind when you're travelling in a place like this."
The blonde star - whose next movie 'The Nanny Diaries' is released in the US this month - feels privileged to use her status for good causes.
She said: "It's amazing to come home when you see people living in poverty. On one hand you're thinking, my celebrity life is so surreal, but it's my work and helps me bring awareness to Oxfam."

Scarlett Johansson Buys £4 Million Hollywood Mansion.
The Lost In Translation beauty, 22, bought the spacious property from moviemaker Harold Becker, and the house boasts seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Earlier reports that the star had spent only £400,000 on her mansion were completely incorrect. A source says, "It's a gigantic property. The place spans over 4.352 square feet."
